Many individuals feel stuck and aren’t sure how to create positive change in their lives. Seeking individual counseling is a way to obtain personal power and improve the quality of your life as well as strengthen your relationships and connections with others.
One approach for treating individuals with various issues such as anxiety, depression, excessive worry, panic attacks, OCD and more is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT connects negative, dysfunctional thinking with a person’s mood and behaviors. One of the main goals with CBT is to assist clients in recognizing their negative thought patterns, examine their validity and replace them with new and healthier thoughts. CBT is goal oriented and requires active participation from the client both in session and between sessions. Typically, treatment with CBT can last approximately 14-16 sessions, and will vary depending on the severity and the clients motivation for change.
Many clients seek individual counseling for:
- Grief and Loss
- Panic Attacks
- Meditation and Mindfulness
- Life transitions
- Career and personal Growth
- and more…
Families all strive to find harmony and balance. This is not always easy. Family Counseling focuses on creating an understanding of each other’s perspective and encourages collaboration to create change within the family dynamic. Family Systems Therapy looks at the entire family as a whole. It is designed to call attention to the negative interactional patterns within a family. Once identified, the members of the family can work to understand how their actions affect others within the family and eventually demonstrate more positive behaviors that will impact themselves as well as the entire family unit. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist can work with families to identify faulty patterns within the relationships, strengthen the communication about the issues, teach ways of handling conflict and focuses more on the family as a whole unit.
Families attend family counseling for various issues including:
- Family Business
- Family Conflicts and Disputes
- Family Illness
- Drug and Alcohol abuse
- and more…
